3RD ANNUAL
THE BELFRY 5K RUN/WALK
RUNNING FOR RELIEF - HELP US HELP OTHERS

SATURDAY - JUNE 12, 2010

The Moravian Church of Downey thanks the many participants, donors and sponsors who together made our 2010 Belfry 5k Run/Walk to "Help Us Help Others" a great event. This year our theme was "Running for Relief" to support the work of Moravian Disaster Response (in places such as Haiti, Honduras and Nicaragua).  Thank you for your support! Keep visiting the website for more details about how we're supporting the relief efforts and photos of the 5k event.

Fun Facts:

What's a Belfry?: A belfry is a bell tower; especially one attached to a building. The Moravian Church of Downey's belfry was attached when the church was built in 1954 as a replica of one at Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The event "Belfry Run/Walk" is a play on the "Steeple Chase" track event.

Who is that on the logo? Our logo design this year (thank you Randy Cano!) includes silhouettes of some of last year's participants. Recognize anyone?
